Update: Ryan O’Neal And His Son Arrested On Meth Possession

Ryan O’Neal, the star of the iconic 70’s movie “Love Story” was arrested, together with his son, on drug charges. According to Los Angeles Times, the two were arrested this morning, after the police conducted a probation search at O’Neal house in Malibu.

Redmond O’Neal, 24, who is also the youngest son of Ryan O’Neal, was charged for possession of methamphetamine. The police discovered another vial of the drug in Ryan

O’Neal’s bedroom. The two were taken at Malibu/Lost Hills station and the bail was set at $10,000. Redmond is the son of Ryan O’Neal and Farah Fawcett.

Redmond O’Neal is known for his previous troubles with the law, due to drug abuse. In 2004, he was in rehab due to his heroin addiction. In 2005, Redmond pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and methamphetamine. This past June, he pleaded guilty to drug possession and one misdemeanor DUI charge.

Ryan O’Neal, who was he second highest grossing movie star in 1972, was diagnosed is 2001 with chronic myelogenous leukemia. He announced in 2006 that his disease is in remission.

However, last year Ryan O’Neal was involved in another legal incident after he allegedly attacked his older son, Griffin, with a deadly weapon.

Earlier this years, the Oscar-winner Tatum O’Neal, the daughter of Ryan and Joanna Moore, was arrested in New York after police officers found two bags of cocaine in her possession.

Tatum, who is the only daughter of Ryan O’Neal, has spoken negatively about her relationship with her father.

Her best-selling memoir “A Paper Life” offered a grim perspective on her childhood, adolescence and mature years. Drugs were a part of her life from a tender age and she claimed physical abuse marred her youth.
