Update: Janet Jackson’s Mysterious Illness

According to Janet Jackson’s manager, the pop star will be continuing her "Rock Witchu" tour Wednesday night at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., after being forced to postpone nine shows because she struggled with a previously undisclosed illness.

Jackson was initially scheduled to resume her tour Monday night at the Turning Stone Resort in New York after canceling a show over the weekend in Connecticut. But a message posted on the resort and casino's Web site stated the show had been canceled at the advice of Jackson's doctor. Moreover she was to perform on Thursday at Madison Square Garden as well. But that show has been postponed until November 1st, according to the arena.

According to People, the 42-year-old singer is suffering from vestibular migraines, a rare condition that causes vertigo. So it was impossible for her to go on with the shows. In a statement for People, manager Kenneth Cread said Jackson is "feeling much better and is ready to hit the road again."

“After a thorough medical evaluation, it has been confirmed that Janet’s symptoms are being caused by a rare form of migraine called vestibular migraine or migraine-associated vertigo for which she is currently receiving treatment,” read a statement released by Jackson’s camp and obtained by E! News.

All dates on her "Rock Witchu" will be rescheduled. Her health problem became public after Janet was first rushed to a hospital back in September before a concert in Montreal.

Jackson’s current tour was eagerly expected by fans as it is her first North American tour in seven years. Her tour was originally scheduled to end in Dallas on October 22.
