The actor who portrayed the lovable psychiatrist Dr. Fraiser
Crane, Kelsey Grammer, was hospitalized again after feeling faint on Sunday. He
has checked into a hospital in New
York.
His spokesman Stan Rosenfield confirmed the news and he said
that Kelsey Grammer will be monitored overnight.
Last month, on June 2, the 53-year-old actor suffered a mild
heart attack while he was on vacation in Hawaii
with his family. He was taken to the local Kona
Community Hospital
before being flown by chopper to a Honolulu
hospital for treatment. He was released four days later.
Kelsey Grammer is best known for his role as shrink Dr.
Frasier Crane. He played the sherry-swilling shrink for 20 years. Initially, he
co-stared in NBC’s comedy hit "Cheers” (nine years), but later got his own
spin-off series. His portrayal of Frasier has brought him multiple Emmy Awards,
two Golden Globes and a SAG Award.
The 20 years psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane survived on the
small screen tied the record for the longest-running role portrayed by an actor
in a prime time show with James Arness’ Marshall Matt Dillon on “Gunsmoke”
(1955 to 1975). Grammer also worked as a television producer, director,
writer, and a voice artist.
His health problems have started few weeks after the Fox
network canceled his new show, "Back to You." The series was produced
for only one season.
In an interview with People magazine, Kelsey Grammer admitted
that his health problems could be related to the cancellation of the show. "It
was a very stressful time for me," he said.
However, Grammer said he is feeling fine. The actor is
currently involved in a promotion campaign of his new movie, “Swing Vote”. The
movie is scheduled to be released on August 1 and Kelsey Grammer plays the role
of the Republican President Andrew Boone.
His rep has denied earlier reports, which said that the
actor suffered from irregular heartbeats. He made it very clear that Kelsey Grammer's condition is not life-threatening.
However, Kelsey Grammer has decided to skip some
scheduled TV appearances. He was scheduled to appear at Late Night With Conan
O'Brien and Live With Regis and Kelly.
