Sting’s famous band, The Police,
decided to reunite their trio that still has many fans and fame for performing
at the 49th edition of the Grammy Awards. Then they announced that
they would tour together in 2007 and that they would be playing at the Live
Earth concert from July 2007.
Till then, however, the trio will
have their first reunion show on the 27th of May 2007 in Vancouver, which will headline the upcoming very important
Bonnaroo concert from Manchester,
Tennessee.
The Bonnaroo performance will
take place on the 16th of June. The drummer of the band Steward
Copeland stated that he was thinking to a very different strategy for their
upcoming concerts. He has been trying to make his band mates understand that
The Police’s fans will come at more than one show or concert, and because of
this fact they would expect the set list to change regularly.
Copeland tries to convince Sting
and guitarist Andy Summers that their fans are no ordinary, normal people and
that they would be demanding.
Stewart Copeland also admitted
that it would take him some time to get used to playing again in front of such
large crowds. The reunion from 2007 comes after more than 11 years since the
band’s last playing together. Although they have never officially broken-up,
The Police’s members pursued their own solo careers after their tour from 1984.
The 2007 reunion tour will mark
the 30th anniversary of the beginnings of the band.
