In fact, it never was out of business. No fire could scare
Universal Studios. Not even the huge blaze that broke out on June 1st,
destroying a building set.
According to The Los Angeles Times, the studio officials
said the blaze didn’t cause much damage and its effect on movie or television
production was of little importance.
Ron Meyer, the studio's president and chief operating
officer, said that tomorrow things would get back to normal.
The fire destroyed two sets which appeared in the movies "Back
to the Future,” “When Harry Met Sally" and “The Sting.”
Jim Yeager, former head of public relations for Universal Parks and Resorts said that the sets
would be repaired pretty soon.
No damage estimates have been given. The investigators are
still looking for the cause of fire.
Located north of downtown Los Angeles, mostly within Los
Angeles County, the Universal Studios theme park offers visitors the chance to
see sets from films such as "Psycho" and Steven Spielberg's "War
of the Worlds" as well as television shows like "Desperate
Housewives" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
The fire didn’t affect the 17th edition of the Movie Awards competition which
was broadcast live from the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California,
safe and sound from the fire that blazed through Universal Studios.
