Distance is of no importance when love is involved. Even if Uma Thurman lives in New York and her boyfriend Arpad Busson lives in London, the couple has a strong relationship. According to the New York Daily News, they decided to take it to the next level by getting engaged. The news was confirmed by the actress’ representative.

Apparently, a friend of Thurman said that her Swiss financier beau made his move while the actress was in London for Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday party.

Like every self-respected multimillionaire, Busson gave Thurman a diamond so big “she can't fit it through the sleeve of her coat,” said Thurman’s friend, quoted by the New York Daily News. The actress wasn’t at all shy to flash her engagement ring, in premiere, at Elton John's British manor house, where the singer was throwing his 10th White Tie and Tiara benefit.

The date of the wedding hasn’t been set yet.

The marriage will be Thurman’s third and Busson’s first. The “Kill Bill” star was previously married to actors Gary Oldman and Ethan Hawke. Thurman and Hawke have together two children Levon and Maya while Busson has two children with supermodel Elle Macpherson. Thurman had a 3-year relationship with hotel magnate André Balazs before getting involved with Busson.

While her love life seems to be improving, there are other aspects of her professional life to take into consideration. The 38-year-old actress got mad at the French cosmetics company Lancôme and filed a suit, asking for $15 million, as her name and face were used in advertising campaigns.

Thurman said the company helped retailers to use her name in advertising after her contract had expired. The company denied the accusation.

Also, the actress was involved in another lawsuit with her stalker Jack Jordan who was sentenced to three years of probation. Hoping she’ll be able to put all this behind, maybe, this time, she’ll be happily ever after.
