Washington - Two self-described skinheads were indicted in a plot to kill US president-elect Barack Obama and other African Americans, news reports said.

The two men are to face a federal court in Tennessee on charges of threatening a presidential candidate, illegal gun ownership and plotting to rob an arms dealer, CNN said Wednesday.

Daniel Cowart, 20, of Tennessee and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of Arkansas, both white supremacists, were arrested about two weeks ago. They are suspected of having planned to behead 14 African Americans and kill 88 more. At the end of their killing spree, they wanted to assassinate Obama, federal law enforcement authorities said.

Court documents said, however, that their plans had not progressed to an advanced stage.
