The long awaited “Twilight” is speedily approaching its
release and while clichéd stories portraying how two young people fall in love do
not seem as appealing nowadays as they used to, the movie based on Stephenie
Meyer’s vampire book series sends the unique feeling to a different level with
the help of its blood-sucking happenings and its not-so-common characters.
Thus, the studio distributing the film, Summit Entertainment,
expects “Twilight” to be a success at the box office, as it offers a
bittersweet depiction of an ill-fated romance, as well as pieces of nostalgia,
risk, eye-catching young actors and an enthralling climax. In addition, taking
into account the fact that the franchise benefits from a more than zealous fan
base, we should not have reservations about the vampire flick’s upcoming
money-sucking triumph.
“Twilight” takes to the big screens the story of Bella Swan
(Kristen Stewart), a pensive young girl who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington, so as
to live with her father, Charlie. However, she falls for a mysterious
classmate, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), who is less ordinary than one
would think. He is an 108-year-old vampire who belongs to a family of everlastingly
youthful creatures who challenge their vampiresque nature by avoiding to
blood-suck humans. While the two characters have to restrain their love in
order to avoid a catastrophe, Edward and his family strive to protect Bella
from a wild group of vampires.
This supernatural tale may be hard to swallow for some, but
“Twilight” has already established a wide audience. And big figures are ahead, since
the vampire mania’s thirst can’t possibly be quenched effortlessly.
