“Twilight” Premiered Monday Night in Los Angeles

They say opposites attract. And they might just be on to something, since Monday night, the City of Angels was an impossible to resist enticement to…vampires. And with good reason, given that Los Angeles was the one to lay down the red carpet for the “Twilight” cast, a movie telling a not so classic story of teenage girl meets and falls in love with bad boy. Not so classic when the bad boy is over a hundred years old and hasn’t aged one second ever since World War I ended in 1918. Not to mention that he’s actually a vampire. Though just to put your mind at ease, he’s not quite the textbook definition of a vampire, because he doesn’t feed on human blood, only on bears’ and lions’ blood.

For the world premiere of this production, both “Twilight” leading actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were present, driving the crowd into a craze when they appeared together on the red carpet at the Mann Village and Bruin Theaters in Westwood.

Kristen Stewart portrays Bella Swan, a teenage girl who refuses to go with the trend her peers blindly follow, proudly accepting the „different” stigmata. As for Robert Pattinson, whom you might know from „Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” where he played Cedric Diggory, he gives life-eternal life, to be precise- to Edward Cullen, a handsome and intelligent vampire Bella falls in love with.

The rest of the non-blood-sucking clan of vampires includes Kellan Lutz (Emmet Cullen), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) and Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen).

„Twilight” was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and is slated for release in the United States next Friday, November 21.
