“Twilight” is one of 2008’s most enthusiastically expected movies. It is based on the “Twilight” novel by Stephanie Meyer, and it belongs to the romantic-fantasy subgenre. The movie’s story focuses on a teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire.
108-year-old vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, physically stuck at the age of 17, is against the relationship with his classmate, Isabella “Bella” Swan. However, the two fall deeply in love in a short while. However, their love and even Bella’s life is soon in danger, as three nomadic vampires, James, Laurent and Victoria come to Forks, Washington. It’s then up to Edward and his family – Alice, Carlisle, Esme, Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie – to save her life.
The movie will open in theatres a week from now, yet the production company Summit Entertainment has decided to make a sequel. The company has already acquired the rights over Stephanie Meyer’s next three books from the “Twilight” series, hoping to make it big in the movie industry – and if they keep Pattinson as the lead, this won’t be a hard task to achieve, as fangirls are already swooning over him.
To ensure the success of the up-coming franchise, Summit Entertainment has also “booked” the services of famous screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. She will have the duty to write the screenplay for the next two installments of the franchise, based on Meyer’s books “New Moon” and “Eclipse.”
However, the two stars have not yet signed on for the series’ and now, franchise’s, fourth installment, called “Breaking Dawn.” The plot of the fourth book and future movie is quite predictable, as it entails the marriage between teenager Bella and Edward the vampire.
The first installment, “Twilight”, opens on November 21st.
