Tricia Walsh-Smith, a playwright/trophy wife and her future ex-husband, Broadway mogul Philip J. Smith, are in the middle of a nasty breakup. Nothing worth talking about until now, but the actress didn’t take the divorce only to court, she decided to invite audience from all over the world by posting a film on YouTube, and that’s a first.
In the six-minute video recorded in a Park Avenue apartment from which Walsh-Smith says she is being forcibly evicted by her husband, she lashes out at Philip Smith, president of the Shubert Organization.
By Wednesday morning, the film entitled One More Crazy Day in the Life of a Phoenix Rising from the Ashes had received more than 287,000 hits.
In the recording, she makes public details about her ending marriage such as the fact that they never had sex because he had high blood pressure. At one point she calls Smith’s secretary to ask what she should do with his Viagra and porn collection.
“Oh, another thing: We never had sex. He said it was because he said he had high blood pressure and was old and I accepted that. Then last year when we went through this I found Viagra, porn movies, and condoms,” said Walsh-Smith before calling her husband’s assistant.
When asked about the short film posted on YouTube, Walsh-Smith’s divorce lawyer Raoul Felder described the video as “funny”, but said that at the same time his client “comes off well” because she holds her head up.
On the other hand, Smith’s office wouldn’t comment the video and all his lawyers had to say about it was that they were “kind of appalled.”
