Trezeguet To Stay At Juventus Until 2011

After tense negotiations, David Trezeguet, announced he has renewed his contract with the Italian team Juventus until 2011. "I am proud to tie my name for four more seasons to Juventus," Trezeguet said. "Today I made a decisive choice for my career and my life. This is a club that gave me a lot and with which I want to keep winning.

"In the past 15 days I appreciated the commitment of the club and the consideration the managers have shown toward me. Their attitude convinced me to put aside the incomprehensions and to think only about the future, so to begin again as soon as possible to give emotions to the fans.", he added.

According to the agreement, the French player who joined Juventus in 2000 from Monaco will earn $5.3 million per season.

Juve CEO Jean-Claude Blanc said: “We talked at length with David and we have reached an agreement that satisfies both parties. From our point of view it was always our intention to keep a champion who in seven years has written a chapter in the history of this club, scoring lots of goals and helping us reach important targets.”

Juventus also transferred Portuguese international Tiago Cardoso Mendes from French giants Olympique Lyon and Argentinian Sergio Almiron from Empoli.
