Travis Barker Released From Hospital Earlier Than Expected

Less than a week and a half after escaping from a flaming plane, former Blink 182 drummer, Travis Barker, who suffered second and third degree burns on the lower half of his body, was discharged from the burn unit of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Although Barker's So So Def clothing line partner, music producer Jermaine Dupri, said a few days ago that the drummer was responding good to treatment and was in good spirits, he would only be allowed to leave the hospital in about two weeks.

Turns out he was ready to return home sooner than expected. Barker was discharged on Monday after spending nine days in the burn center.

"Travis is in good condition and was discharged this morning," Beth Frits, a spokesman for the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, told People magazine. "He has left Augusta."

Both Barker and DJ AM, who was the second to get out alive from the fatal plane crash which killed four other people, two friends and two crewmembers, are now out of the hospital but there is still no prognosis on how long it will take the two to fully recover.

Just like DJ AM, who was released from the hospital on Friday afternoon, Barker, who also lives in Los Angeles, was headed back to California, according to a source. "He's on a bus headed to L.A." the source was quoted by People as saying. "Trust me, he will never fly again – ever."

Speaking about DJ AM's release, his spokesperson said the celebrity DJ was "deeply saddened by the events" but "he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends world wide."

"We ask that you continue respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends," the rep added.

Throughout his hospitalization, the 35-year-old, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, had his ex-girlfriend, actress Many Moore, around. She reportedly flew in to be by his side as soon as she found out about the plane crash. The DJ updated his Facebook page later Friday to say, "Adam Goldstein [AM's real name] is the luckiest guy alive."

Barker wasn't alone either, his former wife, and mother of his children, Shanna Moakler, didn't leave his side, in spite of all the trouble they've been through.

"She is so devoted to him [and] he appreciates it so much," a source close to the couple told People. "She's sticking by him. She is with him. Despite everything that's happened to them, they love each other."

Soon after the crash, doctors said they expected the two to make a full recovery, and from the looks of it, they're both on the right path, so fans have way less to worry about, the critical part is over. Hopefully things will continue looking up for them, and both Barker and AM will keep surprising everyone with great progress.
