Although he’s still in hospital, Travis Barker found a
minute to thank his fans for their support and also offer them an update on his
recuperation.
Three weeks after surviving the upsetting plane crash that
killed four people, the ex Blink-182 drummer posted a message on his MySpace
blog in which he showed gratitude to his supporters for being there for him
during his recovery from the deadly accident, which took place in September.
The 32-year-old musician, who sustained second- and third
degree burns, also paid tribute to his employees and friends who died in the
crash, assistant Chris Baker and security guard Charles Still, both aged 29.
In the message he posted on Saturday evening, Travis Barker explained
that although the recovery process had been slow, he was able to move all the
fingers from his right hand. In addition, he said that he would undergo his seventh
surgery on Monday and that he couldn’t wait to spend time with his kids again.
Travis Barker explained that he felt better after seeing how
well DJ AM had recovered. The disc jockey is the only other survivor of the
September 19 plane crash.
“Seeing him after he was discharged was an inspiration,” he
wrote. “I saw just how awesome the doctors’ work here is, and got to see how
well he is doing. I am so happy to see him doing well, and we are both so lucky
and grateful that we are alive today.”
The former Blink-182 member rejected all rumors regarding
his alleged get-together with ex-wife Shanna Moakler, whom he divorced in
February.
“Despite any rumors you might have heard via my EX-wife
Shanna Moakler, who I have not seen since the week I checked in, I’ve been
treated amazingly well, both here in LA and in Georgia. The hospitals I’ve been
treated at are THE BEST,” the musician wrote.
Although the reference to his former spouse was subsequently
deleted from Travis Barker’s MySpace Celebrity blog, the rocker left the
message on his actual MySpace page.
