Although the Toronto International Film Festival promotes
movies, obviously, the productions are outshined from time to time by the
famous figures included on their cast lists. For the moment, all eyes are on
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, one of the most famous couples in the world. The
pair needs no further presentation, as it has been lingering in the public eye
for quite some time now. So it comes as no surprise that the star of “Burn After
Reading” steals the spotlight and reporters are more interested in his personal
life rather than his work.
For instance, a press conference on Saturday morning,
dedicated to the film directed by the Coen brothers, was radically dominated by
Brangelina-related questions. In spite of the fact that Joel and Ethan Coen
attended the meeting and so did co-stars Tilda Swinton and John Malkovich, Brad
Pitt was the main reason why the room was filled with media representatives
half an hour before the official kick off of the conference.
If you wonder how long it took the reporters to pop a
question concerning the Brangelina couple, find out that the longed-for matter
was the first topic of discussion.
When asked if he and Angelina had any plans to work together
again, the fresh daddy joked: “We’re working together
every day.” The twins are enough proof for Mr. Pitt’s statement, I have to
admit.
Passing on to extra-Angelina
subjects, Ethan Coen talked during the conference about how he and his brother
create a script. “We always imagine the actors we want when we’re writing a
script. It just makes it easier,” he said.
Conferences become so much more
interesting when the directors offer various tips with regards to their job.
However, the juiciness is provided by the inquiries into the personal lives of
the stars. And the Brangelina topic seems to be inexhaustible. What will they
do next?
