Actress Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott
welcomed their second child on Monday: a baby girl they named Stella.
Stella Doreen McDermott, who weighs 6 lbs. and 8 oz. and is
about 19 inches long, was born at 3:13 p.m. in a Los Angeles hospital, a rep
for Spelling says, according to People.
Spelling’s daughter was born in the same place where Jessica
Alba delivered her baby a few days earlier.
Spelling and her husband also have a 1-year-old son, Liam
Aaron. McDermott is also the father of a nine-year-old boy, Jack, from a
previous marriage.
"I've always wanted a little girl since I'm such a
girly girly," said Spelling, who revealed she was pregnant with a baby
girl in March. "I immediately started crying. I couldn't believe it. I
have my beautiful little boy and now I'll have my little girl! It's amazing,”
the actress added, as quoted by People.
Spelling also confessed she wanted not avoid repeating the
mistakes of the past, referring to her complicated relationship with her
mother, with whom she reconciled after giving birth to her first son Liam.
"Because my mother and I have always had a complicated
relationship, I always wanted a girl to prove that the past doesn't have to
repeat itself," she told People.
Spelling said she was eager to be both a great mom and a
good friend to her newly born daughter.
The actress has recently declared she would reprise her role
as Donna Martin in the CW's
"Beverly Hills, 90210" spin-off.
