Tori Spelling, already a mother to one-year-old Liam Aaron, said she always wanted to have a girl, and her dream came true on Monday when she gave birth to Stella Doreen McDermott.
The actress, who was resting comfortably post-delivery, and her husband Dean McDermott became parents for the second time to a healthy baby girl, weighting 6 lbs., 8 oz. and measuring 19 3/4 inches long, a rep for Spelling said.
"I've always wanted a little girl since I'm such a girly girly," Spelling was quoted as saying by People.com about the moment she found out she was going to have a girl. "I immediately started crying. I couldn't believe it. I have my beautiful little boy and now I'll have my little girl! It's amazing."
Speaking on her future relationship with her daughter, Spelling explained, "Because my mother and I have always had a complicated relationship, I always wanted a girl to prove that the past doesn't have to repeat itself. I can't wait to be a great mom and friend to her."
The couple reportedly picked the name Doreen to honor McDermott's late mother, while "they just like the name Stella."
The two, who met on the set of "Mind Over Murder" tied the knot in May 2006 and also star in the Oxygen reality series "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood." The third season of their reality show premieres June 17. The 35-year-old actress also announced recently that she signed on to reprise her role as Donna Martin in CW's "90210," remake.
