“Beverly Hills, 90210” fans should not be disappointed
(yet), as Tori Spelling hasn’t completely excluded the possibility of returning
to the spinoff.
Firstly Spelling was very “excited” to reprise her role as Donna
Martin in the new CW “90210” series, however, she changed her mind over some
money issues. The good news is that she hasn’t dismissed her comeback in the
series, but left room for negotiation.
The actress won’t appear in the pilot episode of the series,
however, she might make a comeback, as one can understand from what she told
“Extra:”
“I was supposed to be in the pilot and then I had Stella
[daughter] when they went back into production so it didn’t work out, but I’m
hoping [to return] later in the season.”
Spelling withdrew from the cast of the “90210” spinoff after a salary dispute,
as the media reported. Apparently, “Donna Martin” discovered that her
colleagues were twice better paid than her. According to LA Weekly, Spelling
was to receive from $10,000 to $20,000 per episode, while Jenny Garth and
Shannon Doherty (Kelly, respectively Brenda) were to be paid from $35,000 to
$50,000 per episode.
The rumors haven’t been confirmed, however, fellow Jenny
Garth was appalled by the financial discrepancies. “I'm really bummed because I
love Tori and I was psyched Tori was going to be on the show,” Garth told
Entertainment Weekly. “It just seems wrong if that's the case. I think she
should definitely get paid as much as either of us is getting paid. Her father
(Aaron Spelling) created the show,” she continued. Garth is returning to
“90210” as Kelly, who will be working as a guidance counselor at her alma
mater.
On the other hand, just as indifferent and sarcastic as her
character, Brenda Walsh, Shannen Doherty
said: “They didn’t even get the numbers right. So I don’t know if it’s about
the money either.”
“Extra” had a moment with Spelling while she was throwing a
blow out bash at Christian Audigier’s nightclub. The actress also talked about
her joy at welcoming her second child, daughter Stella.
“Having two is so much better than having one. Because
I get to differentiate between a boy and a girl….At seven weeks, Stella already
has a much different personality than Liam and just seeing them bond together
is so amazing. It takes your life to a different level.”
Moreover, asked what it would be like if they extended their
family even more, Spelling answered that they were planning to have more babies
in the future. “We would like more…But I think we’ll take a break.”
The “Extra” interview with Tori Spelling is on air tonight.
