Yesterday, Toni Braxton became the biggest celebrity to be voted off “Dancing With The Stars.” The public thought that the singer’s West Coast Swing wasn’t as good as the Thriller-zombie dance performed by octogenarian contestant Cloris Leachman.
However, Toni Braxton showed that she knows how to lose. She took the elimination with good grace and saw only the good things about her participation in the contest. Braxton said that all the training and preparing that the participation on “Dancing With The Stars” included helped improve her heart condition. Her cardio problems - microvascular angina - were very close to put an end to her career.
"My heart is much better, so my goal is definitely reached," Braxton said.
"I wanted to do better. I wanted to breathe better. And I was definitely breathing better. I've come a long way from Week One to Week Now."
Anyway, if Braxton wanted to send a message after she was voted off the contest it probably was that dancing regularly keeps or improves one’s heart condition just below that of a frail 82-year-old woman. Not a very good message.
However, Braxton’s elimination came as a bit of a surprise for the judges of the show who were hoping the singer’s "breakthrough performance" was coming soon. It’s definitely not a good thing for the show. The name, Dancing With The Stars, implies celebrities and Toni Braxton was one of the biggest stars in the show.
The list of celebrities who live to dance another day in this TV contest includes Brooke Burke, singer Lance Bass, former football star Warren Sapp, Olympic gold medalist Maurice Greene, actor Cody Linley and actresses Cloris Leachman and Susan Lucci.
