Toni Braxton Puts On Her Dancing Shoes

Singer Toni Braxton, who was forced to cancel her Las Vegas show due to health problems, will be competing in the new season of ABCs "Dancing with the Stars."

According to reports, Toni Braxton recovered from the heart ailment that caused her to pull out from her Vegas show "Toni Braxton: Revealed" which she had been headlining since 2006, and will be joining the new cast of "Dancing with the Stars."

In the meantime, ABC has yet to issue a confirmation for the list with the new celebrity participants which includes "Brady Bunch" star Florence Henderson, singer Lance Bass, reality star Kim Kardashian and rodeo star Ty Murray, In Touch reported.

"The cast is eclectic and diverse: We've got young, old, gay, straight, dance professionals and people who've never danced before," an insider told In Touch.

"Some of the cast are already starting to work out and train, even though they won't meet their dance partners for a few more weeks. It's shaping up to be the most fun season yet!"

Rumored to be on the list as well, Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino denied internet reports and called the Dolphins to clear up the rumor, South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

Marino, who retired partly because of his lack of mobility after a ruptured Achilles' and several surgeries on his knees, attended the Dolphins intrasquad scrimmage last Saturday.

"Chipping and putting with them, maybe, but not dancing with them,'' said Harvey Greene of the Dolphins.

According to the Marino's business manager Ralph Stringer, the network approached the football great with a proposals since the show began.

"They've asked him every year from the inception of the show, and he's never done it," Stringer said. "It's just not something he's interested in doing. It's not a time commitment he's willing to make."

Former dolphin favorite Jason Taylor finished the most recent season as the runner-up, behind Kristi Yamaguchi.

For now, fans will have to wait for a confirmation until August 25 when the show's participants will be announced during a special edition of "Good Morning America."

"We are not at liberty to confirm any casting rumors or details prior to the official cast reveal taking place on Good Morning America, August 25," a rep for the network was quoted by In Touch as saying.

Meanwhile, it's good to learn that Braxton, 41, is ready to take on a new challenge given the health scare in April when she was hospitalized for chest pains. The Grammy-winning singer has been treated in the past for pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the heart.

Former 'N Sync member, Lance Bass has been "locked and loaded" to appear as a seventh-season celebrity participant since last month, and whether or not the openly gay entertainer will have a male or female professional partner has been a hot topic of conversation.

Past celebrities who have competed on Dancing With The Stars include actress Jane Seymour, Marie Osmond, Sir Paul MCCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills and former Spice Girl Melanie Brown.
