Tom Cruise Agrees to Star in “Sleeper”

Box-office superstar actor Tom Cruise and Spider-Man director Sam Raimi have reportedly agreed to collaborate on an adaptation of the DC Comics' Sleeper at Warner Bros., The Hollywood Reporter wrote.

The American actor and film producer is loosely attached to “Sleeper,” a graphic novel with a story which evolves around an undercover agent who is able to absorb pain without feeling it and pass that ability on.

His extraordinary capability is provided by an alien artifact which makes him impermeable. The secret agent is placed in an enemy organization where he meets the wicked Miss Misery and falls in love with her.

Sam Raimi will produce the DC Comics/Wildstorm comic in collaboration with his Star Road Entertainment partner Josh Donen, Reuters reported. “Sleeper” was written by Ed Brubaker, well known for “Captain America,” and illustrated by Sean Phillips.

Tom Cruise’s next role will be in the Spyglass thriller "Tourist," a move that will hopefully change his image into a better one after the box office failure "Lions for Lambs".

Cruise – full name Thomas Cruise Mapother IV – also had an acting role in "Valkyrie,” a World War II drama that will soon be released in cinemas.
