American football star Tom Brady apparently goes over his head in order to impress his girlfriend, model Gisele Bundchen. He has reportedly bought an empty plot of land in Los Angeles for the huge sum of $11 million.

The move was made just a few months after the football star and his girlfriend put their New York apartments up for sale.

According to TMZ, Brady took out a mortgage of $8.225 million that he will pay back in 5 years.

The three-acre plot of land is situated in L.A.’s Brentwood area, on the same street where Arnold Schwarzenegger lives.

Besides the incredible amount of money he paid just for the land, Brady will now have to spend a lot in order to build a house on the plot.

A source told TMZ that Brady wanted to build a home on the land so he can be closer to his son by actress Bridget Moynahan. But then, another source close to Moynahan, says that the child’s mother thinks this is nothing but an excuse.

This Monday, Brady and Bundchen participated in a Boston for Africa charity event. Brady’s sister, Nancy, was one of the event organizers. The football player’s entire family was also present. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler also showed up for the benefit.
