Contrary to various reports claiming NFL star Tom Brady proposed to his longtime girlfriend Gisele Bundchen, the two are not engaged, at least according to Brady's father Tom Brady Sr.

Rumors were the pair made the next step in their relationship on board a private jet while flying from New Jersey to Boston surrounded by four dozen white roses, champagne and Gisele's parents.

When someone finally asked the New Patriots' quarterback's dad about the story, he told The Boston Globe on Friday that reports about his son's engagement were precisely that: "rumor, rumor, rumor ...

"We don't know a thing about it. Nobody told me. We talked to him and there's nothing to say," Brady explained.

The New England Patriots spokesperson rejected the speculation as well, telling Us Weekly magazine that even though he read the reports he did not think any of them are true but Brady does like to keep his personal life private so he didn't comment any further.

Other sources said that people close to him are saying it's just another rumor and while Brady is in Foxboro with his team, no one is congratulating him. Moreover, according to the Boston Herald, the couple strolled down Bean Town's Beacon Street on Friday, and 28-year-old Bündchen was without an engagement ring.

Earlier in September, Bundchen told the Spanish edition of Vogue magazine that she was happy just the way things were in her relationship. Even though she was in no rush to get married, she is still crazy about her beau.

"He really, genuinely doesn't have a bad bone in his body," she told GQ. in July. "And he is a very positive person."
"I think we have a lot of things in common, and I think he is a really great person," she added.

Considered the world's highest-paid model, having been the face of Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Ralph Lauren, the Brazilian-born beauty has been dating the 31-year-old football player since Christmas 2006 after he broke up with his then pregnant girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan.

Brady and Moynahan dated for 3 years, before they split and shortly after, Bridget confirmed she was pregnant with Brady’s child, just about the same time Tom went public with his relationship with Gisele. Bridget gave birth to a baby boy named John Edward Thomas Moynahan on August 22, 2007.
