Directors Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have been
struggling for a while to find fund for one of their project which is bringing
the classical Tintin character to the big screen.
Tintin is said to be produced in two separate movies and it seems that the
companies that agreed of funding the project might be Sony Pictures Entertainment
and Paramount Pictures. Universal Pictures has declined Spielberg’s request of
funding the first half of the Tintin movie project which is supposedly priced
at $130 million dollars.
Paramount was
the first company to consider that the project is worth it and offered
funding, but the two directors are still
thinking about who would be best at
distributing the movie. Steven Spielberg is the one to direct the first Tintin
movie, while Jackson
is said to be the director of the second film in the series.
Tintin is a character created by Belgian artist Herge and is
a comic book figure that has already became a classic in the genre. The comic
book first made its apparition in the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle in
the 1929.
The hero of the comic book is a Belgian reporter by the name of
Tintin, who is helped by his trusty dog Snowy. The Tintin series is one of the
most successful comic book series in Europe,
as the popular character has fascinated generations of children and adults
alike.
Making Tintin into a movie for the big screen requires great
talent and the two directors have proven their worth before.
