Third 'Lost' Star Arrested for DUI

Following in two of his former co-stars’ footsteps, Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Jin-Soo Kwon on ABC’s island drama “Lost,” was arrested by Hawaiian police early Thursday morning on suspicion of drunken driving.

Very few details regarding the arrest have been made available and according to the Honolulu Advertiser, the TV star, who was sporting a polo shirt, khaki shorts and his hair grown out, was taken into custody at around 2:30 a.m. and booked at a local Honolulu police station downtown before being released on bail shortly after 5 a.m.

“At 2:30 this morning an on-duty officer observed a vehicle being driven erratically near South King Street and Isenberg Street,” Capt. Frank Fujii, a spokesperson for the Honolulu Police Department, said, adding that Kim was pulled over and then arrested.

“He was transported to the main police station were he was booked and bail was set for $500 dollars,” said Capt. Fujii. “He bailed out at about five o'clock this morning.”

The actor is shown in a video as he left the police station without commenting on the incident while trying to cover his face. He was escorted by two officers to a silver SUV which took off immediately after he embarked.

A telephone message left with Kim's publicist after regular business hours was not immediately returned.

The Hawaiian land must have some sort of negative influence on the cast of the show since Kim marks the fourth in a series of “Lost” stars who ran into legal trouble with the Hawaiian authorities.

In December 2005, Michelle Rodriguez, who played the tough police officer “Ana Lucia,” and Cynthia Watros, who played “Libby,” were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Kailua, Hawaii after police officers spotted their cars tottering along Pali Highway. They both pled guilty to the charges.

Rodriguez was sentenced to five days behind bars and $357 in fine, while Watros had her drivers license suspended for 90 days and was ordered to pay a $312 fine. Rodriguez is currently facing a 180-day jail sentence for failure to comply with the terms of her probation. Both their characters were axed in an upcoming episode.

In 2006, Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, famous for playing “Mr. Eko,” was also removed from the show after his arrest for disobeying a police officer and driving without a license made headlines. He later provided proof he did posses a valid license and the charges were dropped, but his character was killed off by the smoke monster living on the island.
