The iPhone Is Expected in Poland by Lots of Actors in Fake Lines

According to Reuters, the iPhone situation in Poland is going through quite a strange phase as actors were paid to wait outside stores in order to get everyone hyped about Friday’s launch of the device.

The grand scheme, thought out by Orange (Poland’s biggest mobile phone operator), is to have fake customer lines in front of twenty stores all over the country. When the device was launched in the U.S. in July, things were a bit different, as people voluntarily waited in front of stores and actually paid money to get the chance to be one of the first to purchase the smartphone.

According to Reuters, Poland residents are not as thrilled about paying the very high monthly fee that comes with Apple’s device. This is probably the reason why such a plan was considered to be necessary. Things however may still turn out fine for the iPhone 3G; as up to this point, everything has pretty much been speculation. Whether or not the device will be a hit in Poland just like in all the other countries where had been released remains to be seen. Make sure to check back for further information.

In a more encouraging note, for Apple that is, we find the U.K., where O2 (the exclusive operator partner of the U.S. company) announced on its website that its online stores have sold out the handset and that, at the same time, the device’s availability had been limited for all its retail stores.
