Friday, July 25 “The X-Files” returns to the big screen. No
change of characters or actors, no change of direction just the good old
paranormal stuff that you remember from the TV series. Agents Dana Scully and
Fox Mulder are back on track…and so are Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Rest
assured: the chemistry between them has remained intact.
Although Gillian Anderson “found it quite tricky over the
first couple of days to slide back into it,” she realized it was all coming
back to her when she met David Duchovny.
“It was definitely the moment that [we] got into the same
room together that it felt familiar again,” said Anderson,
according to the New York
Daily News.
The last time we saw “The X-Files” the series was six years
ago. In 1998 it hit the big screen: “The X-Files: Fight the Future.” So…it was
about time for a reprise. The movie’s director and also the show’s creator Chris
Carter asked Anderson and Duchovny about a second movie and they quickly
agreed.
Apparently producers were very careful about the secrecy of
the script. They let actors see only the pages which contained their scenes and
then they collected the pages and shredded them.
Duchovny and Anderson said that, in case the movie will
indeed make the fans believe, they would be ready for other sequels. But if the
movie is not all is expected to be, then it was a good way for closure.
“We're all willing to jump in there again if that's what's
called for. Or to let it go,” said Anderson,
according to the New York Daily News.
The actress also acknowledged the fact that “The X-Files”
was her break and, thanks to the project, she progressed. She performed onstage
in “Bleak House” on “Masterpiece Theatre” and played in 2006's “The Last King
of Scotland.” Duchovny was the star of of Showtime's “Californication” where he
played Hank Moody.
