Some one with a lot of spare time posted on the Web the “news” that the guys behind Masterchief’s adventures are planning to part ways with the Redmond colossus.
Although the information about such hypothetical (but indeed spectacular) move has not been confirmed, the world is abuzz about a possible break-up between Bungie and Microsoft, in the sort of snowball-effect hysteria that usually characterizes worthless Hollywood rumors about Carmen Electra or Britney Spears. You know, a fool throws a rock in the pond and 10 wise men struggle to get it out…
This is why I won’t even comment about what that guy said (I didn’t even bother to search for his post, considering its stupidity), I will just tell you that after sifting through every reliable source I could find that is related to either Bungie or Microsoft there was absolutely no indication of a rupture. It would simply be illogic to have the two companies, which have both reaped huge profits from the Halo franchise, suddenly give up their collaboration, soon after the most successful launch of a media product in the US…
Microsoft has confirmed that they are very happy with the relationship they have with Bungie:
"[…]there's been no such announcement. We continue to celebrate the tremendous success of the global phenomenon that is Halo 3".
All in all, forget everything you have read until now and go snipe some enemies in Halo 3…
