Best known for his role in the multi-award-winning HBO series “The Sopranos,” where he portrays Mafia boss and family man Tony Soprano, Gandolfini is also famous for playing Virgil in the 1993 romantic thriller "True Romance."
Although many of his characters are violent and twisted men, friends say he’s more of a pacifist and a nice guy, and he also proved to be something that women really love: committed. Gandolfini tied the knot with fiancée Deborah Lin on Saturday, according to People.
The wedding took place in the bride’s home town of Honolulu, Hawaii, and sources say the ceremony didn’t last long, only about 20 minutes, but enough to make everybody cry ”Ooooohhh!” when seeing the happy couple kissing in front of the altar with hands on cheeks and all that newlywed enthusiasm. As if the flowers and the Hawaiian breeze weren’t already romantic enough, a local harpist played “Hawaiian Wedding Song” as Deborah walked down the aisle. The former model was reportedly breathtaking in her white Italian lace gown.
The lucky groom had his 8-year-old son from a previous marriage to Marcy Wudarsk, Michael, as a best man and was only surrounded by close friends in the intimate ceremony and reception.
Meanwhile, between being a devoted husband for Deborah Lin and good father to his son, Gandolfini keeps up the good work on the silver screen, as he is due to star in 8 movies in the next four to five years, including Spike Lee’s upcoming World War II drama, “Miracle At St. Anna.”
