The “Sharon” Inside Elton Puts Lily Allen in Her Place

Kids now days drink as much as kids of yesterday used to in their prime, but they don’t know when to stop and, worse than that, they don’t respect their elderly.

The up-and-coming diva Lily Allen made a bit of a fool of herself at this year’s GQ “Men of the Year Awards” in London Tuesday night where she was co-hosting the event with British singer Elton John.

After one-too-many glasses of that champagne bottle she was keeping behind the lectern, Allen’s words kept pouring out of her mouth like crazy. This caused “Sharon,” as Elton is known to be called by fellow singer Rod Stewart to fight back with a catty attitude.

As Lily was trying to continue the scheduled presentations with the words "And now, the most important part of the night...," Elton coolly prompted: "What? Are you going to have another drink?"

This lead to a series of profanities, including a lot of F-words from the obviously tipsy young singer who also made point of mentioning the age difference between her and Elton and the fact that she has all her life in front of her, as an excuse for reckless drinking while on the job. Keeping his cool, the wise Commander of the Order of the British Empire only replied: "I could still snort you under the table."

Of course Elton had his share of good times and scandals in the public eye, but although he’s not tall, dark and handsome, he has settled down with that special someone waiting at home and insulting a legend is an unforgivable mistake, so he gave the spoiled diva what she deserved.

We don’t know if she has any recollection of that night’s events, but hopefully when she surpasses her hangover she’ll have some public excuse for Elton, although we all know that sorry seems to be the hardest word.
