This summer exciting new things were revealed concerning Mars, one of the most exciting being that traces of ice were found on its surface. Water is the main ingredient for supporting life, without this element, organic life being practically impossible.
The latest news surrounding this subject is that the Mars Lander found glaciers under ruble on Mars. A glacier is a rock solid piece of ice that is approximately three times the size of Los Angeles. The mission of the Mars Rover was to find elements that could support life on Mars and after 5 months of activity, it has finally revealed the buried glaciers.
The Mars Rover lost power near the northern pole of Mars, meaning that the device cannot be used to dig up more information about water on Mars. Scientists that someday alien life forms will be discovered in the frozen water on Mars.
It’s important to remember that by aliens scientists do not refer to green, little men, but to microscopic life beings, like bacteria. Scientists also hope that ice on Mars will someday be used to help manned spaceflights to Mars and even more, to a hypothetic colonization of the red planet.
Space is the final frontier and because of this reason, it still fascinates us, and gives researchers reasons to dream and hope for major progress in their fields.
NASA declared that the Mars’ orbiter spotted even more formations that may be glaciers on the northern side of the planet. All in all, space exploration is a continuous research to find out our human origins.
