New York prosecutors are investigating allegations that five police officers attacked a tattoo parlor worker and sodomized him with a walkie-talkie in a subway station. Michael Mineo, 24, who is the victim, says the attack happened at the Prospect Park subway station on October 15 between 1 and 2 p.m.
Moreover Michael Mineo has injuries that show he was beaten and sexually assaulted, according to a source. Records obtained by The Associated Press show Mineo arrived at the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center on Oct. 15, complaining he had been assaulted by police with a foreign object. The papers say he left the hospital four days later after he was treated for "anal assault."
However the police say their investigation has found no evidence that Mr. Mineo was sodomized. In fact, they say their investigation indicates that his pants were never removed, and that the officers who tried to arrest him for smoking marijuana struggled with him only when he ran and then resisted.
Mr. Mineo’s lawyers and friends support his story and have no doubt about the fact that he is not lying whatsoever.
"One of the officers placed a knee behind Mr. Mineo's neck, the other officers pinned Mr. Mineo down and the officer then reached onto his belt, removed his walkie-talkie, and repeatedly and viciously put the walkie-talkie into the rectum of Mr. Mineo," said Mineo’s attorney Stephen Jackson.
Mineo was expected to speak publicly about what had happened to him for the first time Saturday at an appearance with the Rev. Al Sharpton in Harlem, but he did not show up.
