Jamie Lynn Spears is Britney Spears’ 16 year old sister who gave birth to a daughter, Maddie Briann, this June. In order to show her solidarity towards teenage mothers, she sent 17 year old mom to be, Bristol Palin, a gift of designer burp cloths. Bristol is the daughter of Sarah Palin, John McCain’s vice presidential choice.

It was Sarah Palin who announced on Monday, through the McCain campaign, that her unmarried daughter is five-months pregnant. The Palins wrote that their daughter has their “unconditional love and support.” They requested the media to respect their daughter. Rumor has it that Palin’s own son, to whom she gave birth earlier this year and was diagnosed with Down syndrome, was actually that of her daughter.

An insider told CelebTV.com. that Jamie Lynn, however, did not actually order the gift herself. Lynne Spears, her mother, called in the gift to the Beverly Hills. “It was ordered by phone, and they asked what could be done for under $100. They spent $60 on pink burp clothes,” said the source.

Her action may have a slight connection to the scandal caused by pregnancies of numerous students at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts this summer.
