The Launch Of The New iPhone Greeted With A Week-Long Waiting Line

The news about the upcoming 3G iPhone launch gave some people an idea to shoot two birds with one stone. They are going to wait in line in front of one of New York’s Apple stores for about a week in order to set the world record for longest period of time spent in a waiting line. In addition to that, they will also be amongst the first to own one of Apple’s new devices.

The group of about 10 people started their world record quest on Friday at the 5th Avenue Apple Store in New York. By Saturday, the line slimmed down to about five. The leaders are a man, his wife and their child.

The authorities had no problem with the people’s plan and they are free to wait until July 11 at 8 a.m. when the official release of the smartphone is scheduled.

The launch has been presented by the media on numerous occasions, as the iPhone is one of the market’s most popular devices and also one of the Apple’s best sellers. The product’s official and sole carrier in the United States, AT&T, announced the pricing list, with several ways of acquiring the device. The clients declared as eligible for the company’s best offer will be able to acquire the new 8 Giga Bytes iPhone model for $199 and the 16 GB version for $299. The rest will get the 8 GB phone for $399 and the 16 GB version for $499. The users interested in buying the device without a two-year deal, will be able to purchase it for $599 and $699 depending on the version needed.
