Christmas is right around the corner and people are crowding up the shops trying to find the perfect gifts for their loved ones, except for those who prefer to make the presents themselves, such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their six children.

In a new interview with Hello! magazine, the actor, who turns 45 years old today, opened up even more about his idyllic family and his partner.

One would expect that Christmas for someone like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who make millions of dollars a year, Jolie was recently named the highest-paid woman in Hollywood, while Pitt's $20 million share for his new flick "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," is not to be neglected, is more or less of a lavish toy fest for their young children.

As it turns out, none of them are big spenders during the winter holidays, and even though they enjoy giving and receiving gifts, there is no pressure to make them big or expensive.

"The kids don't ask for big gifts for the reason that they don't see a lot of the American cartoon television, which is packed with all those manipulative commercials for big toys that look so fantastic," Pitt explained.

Limiting their kids' access to television in order to make sure they're not begging for stuff seems to be doing the trick. The older Jolie-Pitt children enjoy making gifts for each other and it sounds like they also made a nice tradition out of it. This is consistent with things Angelina has said in the past about encouraging her children to be creative through arts and crafts.

"We have gifts, but we try to keep the money spent to a minimum. The rule is that everyone's got to make something for someone else, you got to put time into it. Then, when they give to each other, it's really sweet," Pitt added.

It's nice to see that Pitt and Jolie are trying to dissuade them from coveting big toys and encourage them to get creative.
But that's only the case for Christmas gifts it appears, since Angelina Jolie reportedl splashed out on a new set of wheels for Brad Pitt's birthday.

"Since Angie is always in a dilemma over what to buy Brad, she’s getting him the new Ducati Monster 1100S titanium," an insider was quoted by In Touch Weekly as saying. "It’s a surprise. She ordered it from Italy months ago. It’s new and I believe it’s not out yet in Ducati stores. I guess a guy can never have too many bikes!"
