Next month, The Jacksons will be honored at the Urban Awards. According to BBC, there is also a chance for the Jackson brothers to reunite, as brother Jermaine said that the group discussed a reunion and they could be on tour “sometimes in 2008.”

With the exception of Michael, all the brothers have confirmed their attendance at the Urban Awards, which will take place on September 4 at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills, informed Broadcast Music Inc.'s publicist. A release issued on Monday said that an all-star tribute is planned.

The show, hosted by BMI, honors hip-hop and R&B artists and the award is given to BMI songwriters and artists who had “a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers,” reported BBC. The Jackson Five, formed by Michael, Marlon, Jackie, Tito and Jermaine, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. They began their career in 1966 and were the first group who had the first four singles become number one. After Randy replaced Jermaine and after they left Motown in 1976, the group became The Jacksons. They had many hits like ABC and “I Want You Back.”

The last time the group toured as The Jacksons, with six members, was in 1984, in support of the Victory album.

BMI will also recognize the year’s best urban song, giving awards to the urban songwriter, song, producer and publisher of the year award winners. Artists like James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, The Bee Gees and Carlos Santana have received the honor so far.
