Wrestling champion Hulk Hogan and his wife Linda Hogan are getting a divorce after 24 years of marriage, WTVT the FOX affiliate in Tampa Bay reported.

According to the St. Petersburg Times, Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, had no idea his wife, Linda Marie Bollea, had filed the divorce papers, and received the news from a reporter who had found out from the Pinellas County court where the papers were submitted Tuesday.

"Thank you for the great information," Hogan was quoted by TheLedger.com as telling the reporter before hanging up.

Family spokesman Adam Handelsman referred calls to another spokesman, who did not immediately respond Friday night.

"I'm kind of shocked," he said. "You caught me off-guard. My wife has been in California for about three weeks. ... Holy smokes," Bollea later told the reporter. "Wow, you just knocked the bottom out of me."

The couple, who moved to a $12 million bayfront estate on Miami Beach in 2006, have been starring together on VH1’s reality TV series "Hogan Knows Best." The two got married in 1983 and have two children Brooke, 19, and Nick, 17. In recent episodes of the show, the two are being showed as they attend marital counseling but they eventually reconcile.

Asked whether he and his wife had discussed divorce, Hogan replied "That's my private business."

It’s been less than three weeks since the couple’s son Nick was arrested on felony charges of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, stemming from an August street racing crash which left his passenger friend John Graziano, 22, with permanent brain damage. Bollea was also charged with having alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.

Several days ago, he was declared a "dangerous driver" by Florida state officials, who suspended his license for a year.
