The Grammy’s Great Winners

The 51st edition of the Grammy Awards from Sunday was broadcast live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The show featured tearful acceptance speeches, and just about everything from short and glimmery to fruity and funny outfits and great live performances of more than 30 artists ranging from young pop stars like the Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry or Miley Cyrus, to legendary icons in the industry, such as Paul McCartney or Neil Diamond. And they all deserved to be there!

Coldplay received three trophies, more than any other nominated rock band while Lil Wayne who won four Grammys used his time on stage to pay tribute to his hometown, New Orleans.

Since we mentioned earlier legendary performers, Sir Paul McCartney and Neil Diamond were both awarded a Grammy for their most recent albums. They thrilled the audience with some old classic hits from their musical catalogs.

A remarkable appearance was that of hip-hopper M.I.A. who was carrying quite a load when she hit the red carpet on Sunday. As unbelievable as it may seem, the Grammy night happened to be the same night she was set to give birth to her first child. But that did not stop the Record of the Year nominee from performing, as she came prepared with an emergency plan in case her baby decided not to wait anymore. Luckily she managed to perform without any problem “Swagger Like Us” with Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne and T.I.

But the winner among the winners was definitely Jennifer Hudson. The most remarkable presence at the Grammy Awards was definitely that of Jennifer Hudson. Considering all the personal tragedies she has endured, Jennifer managed to turn the evening in one of the most memorable ever. Just minutes after winning her first Grammy award for Best R&B Album, the diva, together with a full gospel choir, offered a moving rendition of her ballad "You Pulled Me Through," which was rewarded a standing ovation from the audience.
