The ESA Prepares This Year's E3 Event

The Entertainment Software Association, also known as ESA, presented some of the exhibitors announced to participate at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, which is the industry group’s annual video game trade show event. The list includes Activision, Atari, Electronic Arts, Graffiti Entertainment Inc., Konami Digital Entertainment, MTV Games, SEGA of America Inc., and Sony Computer Entertainment.

Taking into consideration the criticism and feedback received on the past few E3 events, ESA’s officials decided to widen the attendees’ list and also the possible exhibitors’ list. The attendee registration is already opened and media credentialing is also available. Even though the show is several months away, being scheduled to begin on June 2 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, an early completion of these lists will ensure a better monitoring process and a better overall control on the event.

This will represent the association’s effort to return to the original format of the show, which used to host up to 60,000 attendees. In recent years, the ESA decided to scale down the show in order to provide a more "centralized, business focused and personalized experience," allowing only a few thousand attendees.

The eligible attendees include all credentialed international and US-based media, retailers, business partners, bloggers, industry analysts and developers.

"The 2009 E3 Expo will be the preeminent North American computer and video game event. With robust exhibitor sales, high attendee interest, and strong commitments from multiple industry sectors, we are going to ensure the full excitement and energy of this industry is on display," stated Mr. Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA.
