Donna Karan surely knows how a seductive woman looks and should dress like. Thus, the designer’s fiery fall collection exposed on Monday at the semi-annual New York Fashion Week left attendees craving for more after catching sight of skin plainness from the back of an exquisite skirt.
However, beside these little explicitly sexy details, everything gave the impression of soberness and elegance and perhaps this is what made the Donna Karan outfits look so tormenting and enticing. The styles swathed the models perfectly as the undulating shapes were combined divinely with slinky and refined fabrics that bore several touches of yielding shearling.
The designer made her collection suggest force and vigor, which have surfaced as a general theme throughout the fall previews for numerous stylists, retailers and editors, in spite of the fact that Donna Karan came up with a drop of femininity in her clothes that lacked in other collections.
Powerful shoulders, boosted by shoulder pads, were distinguished by the usage of extremely stretched waist belts, while hemlines ran long.
The audience that attended the collection, which was held at Donna Karan’s downtown studio, was able to enjoy live piano music by Eric Lewis. Attendees included White House social secretary Desiree Rogers, who had one of the best seats, along with Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour.
The color palette was comprised of the designer’s much loved shady, loaded hues that she says she admires every day in her place of birth.
