‘The Cleaner’ Pilot Episode to Be Aired on A&E Tonight

‘The Cleaner’ is the first original scripted show on A&E in over 6 years and each episode will present the team led by the extreme interventionist William Banks as it saves another person from drug addiction.

The main character of the show is William Banks, portrayed by Benjamin Bratt, who some of you might now as Doctor Jeremy Stone from the “The Andromeda Strain” miniseries. Banks is a former drug addict who made a pact with God to help people give up their dangerous habits if God saved him from his addiction. Everything seems to have worked out fine and Banks has convinced 257 people to give up drugs, sex or gambling since the last time he got out of rehab.

However, his personal life is a little bit more complicated. He tries to make up with his wife and spend more time with his kids, after years of neglecting them because of his former drug addiction and his attempts to save others.

But Banks is a man a lot of people try to get to work for them. He is helped by a team made up of the sexy Akani Cuesta (Grace Park), the funny Arnie Swenton (Esteban Powell) and the large car salesman Darnell (Kevin Michael Richardson).Together they make elaborated plans to kidnap the people who they are hired to save from addiction.

The character William Banks is based on the real person Warren Boyd, who was a drug addict himself and who latter on convinced Courtney Love and Whitney Houston to enter rehab. Boyd is also a co-executive producer of the show whose first episode is scheduled to be aired tonight.
