According to Nielsen estimates, NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” recorded big ratings on Tuesday. This was the seventh-edition premiere of the reality competition and attracted most of the viewers aged 18 to 49. The series’ record was 11.8 million watchers.
NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” is based on the original American version of the same name and it’s produced by Crackerjack Productions and screened on Network Ten. Hosted by Ajay Rochester, the series debuted on February 13, 2006 and reached their 4th season.
The reality competition involves overweight contestants who try to get rid of the most percentage of weight. Teams and other contestants vote out each other. Personal trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels are responsible for training the contestants for the first season and replaced by Michelle Bridges and Shannan Ponton in the second season.
The filming for the 4th season of “The Biggest Loser” will take place on Fitzroy Island off the coast of Far North Queensland.
Following, CBS was the network which won the biggest ratings on Tuesday night with 19.1 million people watching “NCIS,” 19.6 million people watching “The Mentalist” and 13.2 million people watching “Without a Trace.”
ABC got the third rating position as it broadcast the premiere for “Homeland Security USA.” 7.8 million viewers switched to ABC to watch it, while other 7 million watched “Primetime: What Would You Do?” Also “Scrubs,” broadcast at 9, got 6.8 million watchers and its second episode gathered round 6.6 million viewers.
Fox network, although winning the biggest ratings on Monday with 17.1 million people watching the live coverage of the Fiesta Bowl, reached fourth place on Tuesday.
