After delaying “The Apprentice:
Celebrity Edition” to January 10, NBC announced the premiere of the show is
back on its original schedule and will air on January 3. NBC originally delayed
the premiere of The Apprentice to avoid the ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” final
episode.
The two networks appear to be playing
a game that will only end on January 3, when at least one of the two shows will
certainly air, but for now, viewers are in for a surprise.
In the meantime, the known
rivalry between ABC and NBC has became more and more the subject of discussions,
as the two programming executives, Stephen McPherson and Ben Silverman, are
conducting a public dispute all over the news.
NBC is desperately trying to
move the air date of “Celebrity Apprentice” and fully capture the public’s attention,
without any interruptions. If “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Apprentice: Celebrity
Edition” will air at the same time, Trump’s show is in for a big fight, which
he will most probably lose.
The medical drama “Grey’s
anatomy” reached its fourth season this year, and it is a Golden Globe and an
Emmy winning show revolving around Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), an surgical
intern at Seattle Grace Hospital.
Apprentice’s special edition,
announced after ending the sixth and last series of the reality show, was
officially made public by NBC on July 16, 2007, and is set to feature stars
like Gene Simmons, Nadia Comaneci and Lennox Lewis.
So far, the two networks, ABC
and NBC, have not been able to reach an agreement, and continue to fluctuate
between January 3 and January 10 air dates.
