The Album “Circus” Bears Britney Spears’ Personal Touch

She can watch the circus unfold or she can take part in it. And as we know Britney Spears, she will undoubtedly draw all the attention with her showgirl abilities.

She has lingered in the spotlight for quite some time now, even if she did not lure the public eye into her professional career. Although “Circus,” the artist’s new album, scheduled to be released on December 2, the same day Britney Spears turns 27, bears the entitlement of a comeback, it is not, since the singer has had previous unsuccessful singing and dancing attempts.

“Circus” is more like the mark of a flourishing new beginning that sees Britney Spears pull through and break all the charts with her fresh single, “Womanizer.”

She managed to top this year’s MTV Video Music Awards and now she is ready to sweep even more prizes with the help of “Circus,” which is perhaps the best album in the pop star’s career. While “Womanizer” may be considered the least fortunate track on “Circus,” songs like “Blur” portray the repercussions of what appears to be an unclean night that sees its victim lose consciousness while in bed with a stranger. The album includes the indispensable standard ballad (“Out From Under”), an uncomfortable mix of Latin music and Duffy-like singing (“Mmm Papi”), as well as Cher-style tracks, such as “Kill the Lights” and “Shattered Glass.”

I don’t know whether “Circus” aims to display all the beastly happenings in Britney Spears’ life, but it does seem to be a bit more personal than the artist’s previous works, which dealt with power rather than with weakness.
