Taylor Swift Still Topping The Charts

Young country music singer Taylor Swift is keeping steady atop the album sales chart, according to Billboard. For the seventh nonconsecutive week, Taylor Swift 's album “Fearless” has been at the number one spot on the Billboard 200.

Scoring sales of about 63,000 copies, Swift’s album is the first record in more than four years to post seven weeks in the No. 1 position; the last was Usher's “Confessions” in late 2004. “Fearless” has also become the longest-running number one album by a solo female artist since Alanis Morissette and her 1995 smash “Jagged Little Pill.”

Falling way behind with sales of 49,000 copies, Beyonce's “I Am ... Sasha Fierce” secured the second position while Nickelback's “Dark Horse” clocked sales of 46,000 copies, stopping on the third spot. The soundtrack to the freshly released Notorious B.I.G. biopic, “Notorious,” debuted on No. 4 with sales of 42,900 copies.

Slipping two spots down, Kanye West's “808s and Heartbreak” secured the fifth spot with 40,000 copies while the soundtrack to “Twilight” is still holding a strong grip on No. 6 with 36,000. Also down one position was Britney Spears’ comeback album “Circus” with 34,000.

Rounding up the top 10 were Jamie Foxx's “Intuition” at No. 8 with only slightly less than Spears' total, Keyshia Cole's “A Different Me” at No. 9 with 31,000 copies and rising eight slots to No. 10 was “American Idol” winner David Cook's self-titled debut with sales just shy of Cole's total.

Other notable changes include the soundtrack to “Slumdog Millionaire” (Interscope) with 20,000 copies sold, pushing it to No. 16 from No. 55.
