Google Earth has evolved into its 5th version this week, bringing new exciting features to the global touring everyone’s probably accustomed to by now. Ocean exploration is a remarkable new addition to the Google Earth experience, offering access to parts of the world ocean that seemed impossible to reach.
Users will get to explore the ocean floor in 3D, including underwater volcanoes and other exciting aspects in the ocean depths. In addition to that, they will also be able to learn more about it through videos and information provided by lead scientists and researchers.

Google acknowledges in the new version of Google Earth the importance of the ocean in general, and the importance of understanding its role in essential phenomena such as climate change, our influence on the ocean and the creatures living in it, and more.
Sylvia Earle, oceanographer and National Geographic explorer, who participated in the development of the new ocean feature in Google Earth, said there cannot be a more effective way to raise awareness on the ocean that this.
In addition to the new exciting feature, Google Earth – which is available in 41 languages – also introduces a new touring feature, GPS tracking (which was only available in the Plus and Pro versions of Google Earth), but also Google 3D Mars, which offers high resolution imagery and 3D terrain view of the Red Planet.
