Audi will feature a superb 60 seconds advertisement during the Super Bowl, investing several millions of dollars. The company has already released a teaser on Friday, leaving the American car manufacturers in the bailout’s dust.
According to the teaser, it seems that Jason Statham, starring in Transporter, will fiercely drive an updated supercharged Audi A6. The German carmaker is certainly proud of its product, as the A6 will get through some amazing stunts, featuring a BMW and a Cadillac. Even more, the ad will also feature a Mercedes-Benz that is hit by a Lincoln, much to the delight of the Audi fan boys.
A marketing director at Audi stressed that the ad makes sure that viewers will be utterly thrilled for all of those 60 seconds. Statham also pointed out that he was much more excited when shooting the ad, as every stunt has to be more dynamic and everything happens in a “tenth of the time,” compared to a movie.
Audi had to give a stunning $6 million in order to broadcast its ad during the game. Besides Audi, only Hyundai announced that it would advertise during the Super Bowl.
On the other hand, the economic crisis forced the Detroit three to limit to pregame and postgame adverts. For instance, GM reported that it runs on a small budget and that it currently has not any new models released.
Still, a company representative stressed that GM will still feature its current models during pregame and postgame commercials.
