Suns 121 – Pacers 117, Stoudemire Scores 42

Amare Stoudemire erupted for his season-high 42 points and 13 rebounds as the Phoenix Suns beat the Indiana Pacers 121-117 on Tuesday to get their 11th win in the last 13 games.

"I felt real good," said Stoudemire, who was on fire both from short and middle range and finished with a 15-of-24 record from the floor.

"I just played my game and took whatever the defense gave me, whether it was a jump shot or an easy lay up," the

Though Stoudemire was colossal, Nash was the one that constantly got him the ball in scoring position. Moreover, the two-time league MVP came up with six points in a decisive 8-0 game-closing run, including the go-ahead three-pointer after the Suns surrendered an early 15-point cushion.

"It was just a relief that we could make the plays down the stretch and get the stops when it counted, but not a very gratifying win," said Nash, who finished with 18 points and 17 assists.

The other Suns also had good game. Raja Bell had 17 points, Grant Hill 16, while Shawn Marion finished with 14 and 12 rebounds. The Phoenix Suns are now 14-4 after having won their last five games.

Jermaine O'Neal was the one that led the Pacers (9-10) with his season-high 30 points. Mike Dunleavy followed with 22, and Jamaal Tinsley helped with his 19 points and 12 assists.

"Nash made some big shots." O'Neal said. "He's one of the toughest people to guard. He's the heart and engine of this team.”

Indiana's Danny Granger missed a 3-pointer that could have sent the game into over time, and the Suns rebounded through Nash, who then went to the foul line to end the game.
