The Associated Press reported on Thursday that a Wisconsin teen used a fake Facebook profile in order to blackmail his classmates into giving sexual favors. Therefore the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office has charged a New Berlin Eisenhower student with 12 felonies after he allegedly posed as a girl online to trick male classmates into sending him nude pictures of them.
This 16 year old girl said Stancl chatted with boys under her name. She says it was first brought to her attention a year ago in study hall. "These kids were looking at me all funny, and I'm like what the heck are you guys looking at. And he says I heard you sent a naked picture of yourself to so and so," she said.
The girl was mortified, but assumed it was just a mean rumor until this week. She claims police contacted her to let her know that Stancl was the one who used her online identity.
The incidents allegedly happened from spring 2007 through November, when officers questioned Stancl about a bomb threat he allegedly sent to teachers and wrote about on a school's bathroom wall. It resulted in the closing of New Berlin Eisenhower Middle and High School.
Officers found about 300 nude images of juvenile males on his computer, according to the complaint. Prosecutors said the victims were as young as 15.
"The kind of manipulation that occurred here is really sinister in my estimation," Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel said Wednesday.
Anthony Stancl, of New Berlin, has been charged with child enticement, several sexual assault counts, possession of child pornography and making a bomb threat.
Stancl's attorney said the teen plans to plead not guilty and hopes to reach a plea agreement with the district attorney. He says earlier events "might have had some impact on what" the teen did.
