Research In Motion is the company that produces the BlackBerry one of the most reliable and popular phones around. The blackberry’s trademark has always been the physical keyboard, which helped users accomplish all sort of tasks, like writing emails or instant messages.
Recently, research In Motion tried its luck with the BlackBerry Storm, the first touchscreen phone produced by the company, in an effort to bring down a notch the incredible sales the iPhone is having. Unfortunately for research In Motion, the new BlackBerry seems slow and it doesn’t compare with its predecessors in terms of quality and reliability.
Recently, complaints started emerging over the Storm’s lack of Wi-Fi and even though the arguments explaining why the option is not present are pretty convincing, it is hard to say you are competing with Apple’s iPhone without having Wi-Fi.
Research in Motion has said that Wi-Fi would have shortened the phone’s battery life by a lot. Even so, Wi-Fi is the most desirable feature in the iPhone and in most gadgets produced today. Being able to connect to the Internet n such a simple manner makes up for short battery life, especially with 3G Internet speeds that are not very impressive.
There are a lot of complaints referring to BlackBerry’s Storm, most of which claiming that the keyboard is just wrong, for a smartphone, and that the entire device seems buggy and not finished. Storm feels like the kind of device which was rushed out on the market, without being tested enough.
